Engineers Night Recap
On Thursday, November 18th we hosted Engineers Night for our monthly dinner meeting.  We had two local design engineers, Greg Hill with Stantec and Marcos Lopez with Tetra Tech, Inc. share their insights of upcoming work and the direction they see the civil infrastructure design heading.  In case you were unable to attend, you can download the "Prospective Projects for 2016-2017" created by NUCA of WA and Marcos Lopez's upcoming projects handout below:

On Wednesday, April 29, 2015, Governor Jay Inslee signed into law HB 1601. HB 1601, the venue bill, helps level the playing field in construction contracts with counties throughout the state. HB 1601 allows contractors to sue a county in either that county or one of the two nearest counties. This legislation helps provide an impartial forum for contractors, and promotes fairness. The significant work that led to the passing of this legislation was spearheaded by NUCA of Washington, with support from the AGC of Washington.

Bob Marconi is the chair of NUCA of Washington’s Legislative Committee.
